Coral Reef Educational Signs

Coastal Planners helped obtain government approvals to replace faded, deteriorated, bleached out coral reef signs and add new signs at 39 strategic locations along Maui’s coastlines.  The signs help educate the public on safe snorkeling and coral reef and marine life viewing and protection as noted by an August 2020 MNMRC Coral Reef Signs press release. As a member of the Coral Reef Recovery Team of the Maui Nui Marine Resource Council, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we were delighted to contribute to public education.

The signs have QR codes to instantly link the reader to www.mauireefs.org/snorkel that helps identify reef fish, coral species, environmentally friendly sunscreens to use and safe snorkeling practices and techniques that can be viewed on a cell phone while at the location.
